Upon visiting with numerous leaders, visitors, and citizens in the LGBTQ community, one thing seemed to be missing, a dedicated Community Center. We aim to bring the various pieces of the LGBTQ community together, so that we can all rise as one. Opening the Austin LGBTQ Center will cement Austin’s inclusiveness and diversity, elevating Austin’s status as an accepting LGBTQ community.The Austin LGBTQ Center will offer a centralized hub for the LGBTQ community.
With Center Staff and strategic partnerships we plan on offering a wide range of programming and services to the community at large.Non-Profit organizations will be given the opportunity to have the Center act as their headquarters for meetings, mail, and deliveries, as well as select special events.
Many non-profits do not currently have a physical location or meeting spaces to conduct their business and further their causes. This will be an essential element of the Center’s operations.For the public at large the Center will offer education, resources and opportunities to connect with other LGBTQ individuals.
We plan on offering educational opportunities, resources, counseling, support groups, and more. These benefits to the community will be the primary function of the Center.
